Amsterdam Day 5

Amsterdam Day 4

In the morning we visited DLA Piper where we had a quick tour of their exquisite offices. Unfortunately we had a change in circumstances, meaning we couldn't participate in the mock trial we had planned for the morning. Instead they gave us tickets to the Rijksmuseum which we found very inspiring. They gave us packed lunches and we ate them in the museum park, they were lovely!
In the afternoon, we visited the Royal Artis Zoo, which we all loved. We saw every animal imaginable, zebras, gorillas, giraffes, elephants, painted dogs etc. In the picture above, you can see that we climbed the dinosaur sculpture and posed for a quick photo! Then, we went to Micropia, a museum and activity centre just next to the zoo. We found out all about germs and bacteria, who knew they could be so extraordinary? It told us the number of microbes on our bodies; 177 trillion!!! We then went straight to dinner where we ate a very posh, but small meal in a gorgeous restaurant. The food was delicious! Finally, we headed back to the hotel as we were all very tired.

Amsterdam Day 3

In the morning, we began our day out with a visit to the science centre NEMO where we enjoyed many different activities (except for when we got stuck on a lift) and bought some new fidget spinners to keep us entertained. After a lunch at Starbucks, we then went to the Scheepvaart Maritime Museum where we went into a visual show and had a rest in the hammocks. We then walked to the Amsterdam Dungeons - Miss Crowther got picked on and had to do something! We walked through the rain and went slipper clog shopping before going back to our hotel. We ate at a nice Italian restaurant and then came back to the hotel to rest after a long day out in Amsterdam.

Day 2 in Amsterdam!

For lunch we ate Dim Sum at a restaurant in the Dam area of Amsterdam called Oriental City. That was a very interesting experience! The food was very tasty, but we had never eaten anything like it before so (as you can see from the picture of Issy above) many of our first thoughts were 'It tastes like slime!' It really was a new experience for all of us.
After lunch we shopped around many souvenir shops in the Dam area and then we went to Madame Tussauds where we took lots of photos with the wax celebrities. That was the highlight of the day for us because none of us had ever been to Madame Tussauds before. After that, we walked back to the centre of the city, near our hotel and we took a canal tour around the city. We loved that too because the atmosphere was amazing and the city is so beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting on the back of the boat outside. Then, we went back to the hotel and went out for dinner at De Pizza Bakkers. We waited quite a while for the food, but it was definitely worth it! The pizza was amazing.

Day 2 in Amsterdam!

In the morning, we had a lovely buffet breakfast in our hotel! Then we headed to the I amsterdam sign where we took lots of photos (loads!) Because our hotel is in the very centre of the city, we only had a short walk to the Van Gogh museum. This was a very interesting experience! The weather was beautiful, so we sunbathed for a bit in the museum gardens. When we became hungry we took the tram to Dam Square where we ate in Oriental City, a Chinese restaurant!

Arriving in Amsterdam!

After a quick flight, we arrived in Amsterdam! We checked into our hotel and then went to eat (a lot!) and shop in the Hard Rock Cafe - we all managed to buy something nice to wear (even though it was very expensive!). Next we had a stroll around Vondelpark and watched the sunset before going back to our hotel rooms to relax after a long day of travelling.
